Kyung Hee University conducts various “Global Leadership of Peace” programs in order to fulfill its responsibility as a higher educational institution. The Global Academy of Future Civilization has sent students to the United Nations for internships; a first for a Korean institution. The program, which is aimed at establishing an alternative civilization of peace and prosperity and nurturing global leaders of the 21st century, sent the first group of internship students in July 2006. Every year an average of 10 students work in an internship at the UN or other international organizations so as to understand the workings of an international organization and foster a global mindset.

Any student who has studied more than two years in undergraduate or students in graduate programs can apply for internship if they are interested in the UN or other international activities for world peace. Final candidates for internship are selected through review on documents, interviews and test writing. Living expenses for 6 months and round trip air fare are provided.
